Public Financial Management Project (PFMP)

• With the aim of revamping and integrating existing systems (DECS, FMIS, BMIS, LMBS, CGAS), at FCGO, Public Financial Management Project (PFMP) has been launched from the fiscal year 2007/08 in the assistance of the Department for International Development (DFID), the United Kingdom(UK).

• PFMP has aimed to complete its mandate during two and half years.

• PFMP's activities will be directed towards generating both the financial and physical information from the grass-root level by using computer system and transferring them to the decision levels through faster means of communications like internet, desktop sharing, CDMA or other suitable media.

Computerized Government Accounting System (CGAS)

• CGAS has been developed by High Level Commission for Information Technology (HLCIT) in coordination with FCGO to computerize the existing accounting transactions of the Government of Nepal (GON). This software has been handovered to FCGO by HLCIT for implementation.
• CGAS is comprised of revenue, expenditure, deposit and public works accounting transactions.
• Trainer's Training as well as User's Training of the software has been conducted in different groups. In the current fiscal year too, User's trainings will be conducted.
• From the fiscal year 2007/08, the software has been in operation in different government ministries, departments and offices in the Kathmandu valley.
• The software is expected to gradually expand in all ministries, departments and their subordinate offices by current fiscal year 2008/09.
• During current fiscal year 2008/09, the software will be installed at selected thirty district treasury controller offices.
